Existing players who do not have a new character for this round are welcome to tailor the code to suit their needs if they don't wish to re-introduce themselves and their characters.

ABOUT YOU: Hello everyone! I’m a 28-y.o ELA teacher living in Taiwan who enjoys writing, drawing, and playing vidya games! Astarion Ancunín
AGE: Currently a matter of contention in fandom due to certain dates not lining up with others. His VA has said he’s somewhere between 250-350 years old.
CANON: Baldur’s Gate 3
CANON POINT: Early Act I, shortly after falling from the nautiloid
ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER: Former asshole city magistrate who pissed off the wrong people, got beaten nearly to death, and was then revived/turned into a vampire spawn by actual vampire Cazador Szarr. He spent 200 years as Cazador’s mind-controlled plaything and slave, but just recently got abducted by
aliensmindflayers who inadvertently freed him from Cazador’s control. So now he’s a partially-amnesiac asshole with a shitton of trauma and a burning desire for vengeance. Fun!As a vampire spawn, Astarion has to drink blood just like a real vampire, but without any of the cool powers :( He also can’t turn anyone else into a vampire, so no one has to worry about him being patient zero of an undead plague any time soon!

CR YOU WANT: Astarion is brand new, so I want everything! Good influences, bad influences, friends, enemies, and everything in between! Shipping is also on the table (likely in the capacity of Astarion trying to seduce someone to get something he wants), but a word of warning: Astarion has some very heavy trauma around sex and relationships, so a peek at his permissions page for potential triggers might be prudent if we want to go that route. Thanks!
CR YOU DON'T WANT: None that I can think of.
CROSSCANON I WANT: HMMM, well, vampires from other canons might be fun! Honestly, I think Astarion might have a teensy little freak-out when he realizes just how many full-blooded vampires are here and, needless to say, he won’t be very trusting of them. But hey, that’s the fun of it, right? Totally up for the local vamps to either win his trust… or validate his uneasiness :D
Characters from other DnD-based canons are also very welcome!
Honestly, I’m up for anything here. Give me all the cross-canon!
PLOTTING & PLANS: Astarion just arrived, so he’ll mostly be exploring and trying to get his feet under him this first month. HOWEVER, there is one very urgent matter he’ll need to address as well: sustenance. Astarion can technically survive for an indefinite period without blood, but too long without it and he’ll lose his capacities for speech and reason and basically become feral, so… let’s not! And, since there aren’t any animals here, he’ll need a human donor—his first ever since his former master only ever allowed him to drink the blood of animals. Also, because he assumes no one would ever let him bite them willingly, there’s a good chance he’ll just… break into someone’s apartment and try to feed on them in their sleep. So, if anyone would like to volunteer their character to be fed on in the dead of night by a vampire spawn, let me know.
Also, since this will likely count as breaking and entering and assault, let me know if anyone would like to wake up handcuffed to this loser the next day! :`D
HANDWAVED CR: No hobbies or haunts as of yet, since he just got here. I don’t mind handwaving small or mundane interactions; just hit me up via Plurk, PM, or Discord so we can discuss!
HEADCANONS: So, in Baldur’s Gate 3, all of the main male companions have the same body-type: fucking shredded with 6-pack abs—and this despite the fact that all of them have a Strength score of 8. For reference, in DnD, the strength of an average adult human is 10. These boys all fail that mark. Not to mention, Gale is a nerdy wizard who spends all day in his towers reading books and Astarion was a prissy nobleman who then spent 200 years on a starvation diet. It makes no sense!
Which is all to say: those abs aren’t canon to me and I HAVE installed mods in my BG3 game to confiscate the one thing Astarion had left to him (his abs). Sorry, darling.
SHOUT OUTS: EVERYONE who threaded with me on the TDM! I wasn’t totally convinced about apping here when I first posted my top-level—mostly I just wanted to voicetest Astarion—but I had such a good time with all of y’all that it convinced me to put in an app! Thanks for the awesome threads!

I'd be down for future biting shenanigans, though I'd prefer if Astarion got to meet Tsuru in a different context first—he'd like to scope out any potential victim first to try and win their trust and get a sense of how they might react if they woke up with his fangs in their neck! Peter tends to wander around the city in a Haunted Fugue State a lot, especially at night, so if Astarion ever came upon him and wanted an easy meal, it could possibly be a thing that happens LMAO. Peter wouldn't even know what happened.... Just wakes up the next day with evidence(?) of being Bitten and a little freakout.

Normally I'd say that Astarion would want to scope out a potential victim before biting them (and preferably choose someone who's asleep for his first bite), buuuut if Peter seemed helpless enough/sufficiently unaware of his surroundings, Astarion might take a bite!
It'd also mean I wouldn't have to bullshit a way for Astarion to improvise Thieves' Tools to break into someone's apartment lol...I really like that idea the more I think about it :D Could make for interesting interactions when they "meet" for real some other time. Though I keep imagining Peter seeing the puncture scars on Astarion's neck and being like, ":0000 Did something bite you, too?" 😂

Anyway I can't tell you how thrilled I was with our TDM thread and Astarion being like "my god she's as oblivious as a brick but Sweet And Blonde™ maybe I can use this" because some of my favorite CR with Rosella has historically been with people whose shitty sides she just absolutely does not register because they're nice and polite, specifically, to her. I would love to keep things going in-game if you're interested!
Vampires actually do exist in her canon (her dad canonically kills Count Dracula — long story) and she's kind of primed to be afraid of Dark Things And The Undead, but that's also why I love having her develop relationships with people in that situation and having to challenge her worldviews in that way. She's also fresh off an adventure where an extremely shitty and hyperpowerful evil entity took her captive and forced her to run errands to facilitate said evil entity gaining ultimate power and ruling the world as its dark lord (on penalty of torture and death) so like. From what I understand of Astarion, they might have some things in common!

I'd be happy to have Astarion continue worming his way into her circle, though fair warning, he's not actually that great at hiding his shitty side long-term. The truth is, the guy's got a lot of Bad Opinions and only 10 CHA, so he's bound to say something wack sooner or later :`) But hey, he's also quite readily influenced by his environment and the people in it, so maybe Rosella could be a positive influence on him? Or he could be a bad influence on her :D Or both!
Either way, I can't wait to see what happens next with these two!

(Well, for Rakan he doesn't really like hurting innocent people, but he does LOVE to help his murder-girlfriend commit murder and heinous crimes!)
These two will PROOOOBABLY get along either REALLY well, or REALLY hate eachother and I'm here for either. Especially since Rakan will try to steal any nice clothes he has, and also compliment his hair. Sometimes backhandedly compliment his hair. Rakan's also really good with emotions, so if you ever want someone to bounce off of for any kind of emotional growth or room to BE emotional, he's a great place to start if you don't mind his violent case of ADHD making holding conversation a little difficult.
