GUIDELINES.

Welcome to the new October OOC Introduction & CR Building post! Use the form below to introduce yourself as well as your character(s) to the others in the game. Note that top levels can be for ALL players, new and existing, regardless of when you were accepted into the game.

Existing players who do not have a new character for this round are welcome to tailor the code to suit their needs if they don't wish to re-introduce themselves and their characters.

SAME. I swear, Astarion's internal reaction to Molly using Vicious Mockery on the plants was just

I didn't want to to anything until I talked to you about it, but Molly can sort of technically sense undead? I've been playing it as him just getting a ~vibe~ from the vampire population, but I'm happy to modify that or do nothing at all as desired.

Molly's totally allowed to get undead vibes from Astarion! Guy's walking around with red eyes, a mouthful of fangs, and puncture scars on his neck, so honestly it shouldn't even be too hard to figure out what he is LOL!

Look, as someone who also has red eyes, sharp teeth, and weird scars, Molly is not here to judge any fashion choices.

He does also have very weird blood if you want to play around with any bitey things.

Oh? What would happen if Astarion bit him?

Honestly not sure! I've been playing it as sort of a magical blood poisoning-- ordinarily he'd be able to imbue items with radiant damage via his blood which would be especially bad, but he's currently nerfed from that particular silliness. I'm happy to talk something out if it's a thing you'd like to play with.

HMMM, there's a couple different routes we could take with that! It could be that Astarion can smell that there's something off about Molly's blood and thus know not to bite him; he has an encounter with a character in canon where he doesn't want to bite her because he can smell that there's "corruption" in her blood that would sicken him. OR, this could be a Gale situation where Astarion doesn't know there's anything off until he bites Molly, at which point he'd be baffled and disgusted at the taste.

If we do go for a bite, do you think the blood would just taste bad to Astarion? Or would it actively make him sick?

The official class description includes "alters your life's blood" so I'm totally willing to go with Astarion being able to sense/smell it. I'd probably liken actually biting him to something like getting a mouthful of poprocks. Not actively dangerous but not real pleasant.

Got it! Maybe next tag in their TDM thread I can mention Astarion smelling something odd about Molly's blood—or we can handwave it if you'd like!

Yes, sounds good! Hilariously, Molly will have absolutely no idea what he's talking about. Being an amnesiac is fun.
