GUIDELINES.

Welcome to the December OOC Introduction & CR Building post! Use the form below to introduce yourself as well as your character(s) to the others in the game. Note that top levels can be for ALL players, new and existing, regardless of when you were accepted into the game.

Please note that the code can be tailored to your needs - feel free to remove anything you don’t wish to fill out! For example, existing players who do not have a new character for this round are welcome to remove introductory sections if they don't wish to re-introduce themselves and their characters.

GHOST
AGE: 27
CANON: Original!
CANON POINT: Around ten years after her involuntary exile into the fantasy universe Ennalore.

ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER:

Perpetually exasperated redheaded fairytale lawyer, because you know that like 90% of the shenanigans that happen in fairy tales could've been averted if they'd just hired sensible legal counsel. Her backstory is a little more complex, but the fast and dirty shorthand is: essentially, she's a little bit Chosen One, a little bit isekai protagonist, and a little bit Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court.

Technically possesses powers of reality warping and was trained from birth in how to use them, but that got interrupted when everybody in her training facility was murdered in a tragic writing accident. She likes to debate, likes to write, and is constantly looking for projects to keep her busy so she can avoid thinking about all the baggage she's carrying around. YOU MAY HAVE, UH, NOTICED HER MOST RECENT ONE. POSSIBLY.

CR YOU WANT:
Truth be told, I'm not really sure what I'm doing with Ghost at the moment. She's had the opportunity to meet a bunch of people as a result of prom, though, and I'd definitely like to keep following up on that on the go-forward! I'd also really like to have the opportunity to have her talk more about her canon and some of the things that happened to her ten years ago, but it's one of those things that she's really not inclined to talk much about so getting her to the point where she'll bring it up is tricky, to say the least.

However, one piece of CR that I'm definitely looking for would be:

• Reality-warpers and/or people who've had a significant duty/responsibility placed upon them — the kind of "an entire situation hinges on you doing your job and doing it correctly" type of vibe. I think recently I joked that it was like "Omelas Kid Syndrome" but that's the same kind of idea — people for whom Everything Depends On You™ regardless of the toll it takes on you.

CR YOU DON'T WANT:
I'm not looking for longterm negative CR! Short-term conflict, bickering, IC rudeness, and so on are all fine! However, I'm not in the market for lasting enemies, active persistent dislike, repeated negative encounters, that sort of thing.

PLOTTING & PLANS:

• She has a top-level at prom, for people looking for an opportunity to encounter her! She's running around screaming a lot, as one does.
• Like with Thancred, I'm hoping to use the art gallery, whatever December's plot ends up being, and/or Daan's player plot as a means of digging into those backstory elements I mentioned above, but I haven't quite figured out how to do it yet.
• I'm hoping to unlock her powers soon! Ideally that would start her on a trajectory of talking about her past more as she tries to access her powers despite never completing her training in them, and thus just having to kind of figure it out along the way (and maybe make it her own, with the influence of her friends?).
• Friends! She perceives herself as a perpetual outsider (even when she's provably not) so having people to talk to and hang out with is always great.

HANDWAVED CR:

• If you were a prom attendee, you might've seen her running around fixing everything, screaming, getting people to kick in doors to make sure no one was fucking in the storage closet, etc. Or possibly you just heard Lestat doing his thing. He wasn't subtle.
• IDK she's going to sleep for like five hundred years now that prom is over.
• Pitch me something! I love handwaved CR.

ANYTHING ELSE:

In lieu of making a shitpost to put here, I just want to take a minute and say an extremely heartfelt thank you to everybody who got involved with prom, who's been enjoying it, and especially to the mods for working with me and giving me the ability to put it on at all.

Seeing people having fun with it and using the setup to tell their own stories has been an immense delight for me these past few weeks and I couldn't have hoped for more from my silly little event. The turnout has just blown me away and I'm so, so glad it's been enjoyable for people to play with!

I just wanna say thank you for all the hard work you've put in for prom, it's been such a blast!

Also, I definitely want to develop the CR between the Wanderer and Ghost! It was hilarious when she compared him to Alhaitham tbh but he's actually very nice if you ignore his tsundere side hahaha.

I'm down to hit her up at the art gallery if you're planning on putting a log or something up for it? :)

MY POOR DW INBOX I keep going in and clearing out a day's worth of notifs and then I make the mistake of sleeping and it fills up again. I'm so proud of everyone in this bar.

The Alhaitham comparison is so funny to me because the running gag is that Ghost herself is quite a bit like him in temperament and sense of humor (which is why they sometimes don't get along) so for her to bring it up about someone else is a bit like girl, look in a mirror

I'm not really sure what I'm doing yet, honestly! But I'll definitely keep an eye out for opportunities to hit up Wanderer, too, and one way or another we'll find a way. o/
