Hi, everyone! Some IC discussion has led to the following idea that myself and Robby Keene's player (strongroots) would like to propose OOCly first, to make sure we aren't stepping on any toes (we're not sure if there's plans for anything like this!) and to see if players would be welcome to it!

We would like to have a Welcome Diner located close to the City Hall Station (and advertised inside it) where newcomers could come to have a warm meal, learn the very basics of the city from a leaflet (that everything is free, these events have happened, watch out for the ice cream, please check the network for possible friends–nothing in-depth, but more of a 'help to settle in' message), and where people can advertise clubs, doctors can leave their contacts, or all sort of meetings can be promoted. The main idea is just to run a place where people can take it easy for a moment and settle down after suddenly arriving in the City.

Other people could potentially help out at the diner if they like, and there could be a link for the growing clubs and/or services being offered, and other resources.

During the weeks where there aren’t new arrivals the diner will still be opened, though a little more limited - mostly still as a place where people can come for a non-weird-magically-appearing-restaurant-meal or just for some company.

this sounds like a really sweet idea to me! having somewhere that's more newbie friendly than the tourist center, that's actually run by people who know what the hell is going on avoids samey conversations about the mechanics/past events

and i also just think the diner idea is very cute. i am a sucker for the vibes.

(also hello, i was daniel on the last months TDM so i have first hand experience with finding myself asking the same questions as a new arrival lmaoooo)

there's a lot of info gathering going as it is, and we wanted a small basics covering, while still allowing that room for deeper discussion between people! :) (but also daniel just wants to be embarrassingly Dad and feed everyone)

yes it's 100% about the vibes!!!! daniel usually ends up talking to a lot of the new people and he always finds himself wanting to take care of people more, hence.. this idea.. since daniel's own experience finding himself here also was Not Great!!!

This is sooo cute ♥ I think it's a fantastic idea and a great way to encourage new CR! I would love to have Louis lurk around while he tries to find some way to make himself useful here :')

omg I love this idea. Armand would be dubious at first, but he's missing a 'hub' so would absolutely gravitate here and would help out! The most stone faced server you've ever seen coming right up!

Oh hello, Midnight will be spending so much time there LOL. He's planning on opening a host club at some point for about the same reasons, but he understands that a host club is not exactly a family friendly venue, so he gets the need for a tamer welcome wagon. 👍

it works out anyway, since daniel is all about Thinking About The Kids and has spent effort before to make sure kids are being taken care of in this place, so those being herded to the diner instead would be great.

LMAO god... yeah, i was planning for the host club to be a pop-up event and not an actual permanent location, you know? more for morale-building for long term residents than for newcomers who probably aren't in the mood to be flirted with by total strangers LMAO.

i'm very serious about Midnight hanging out there a lot, by the way, even if all he's doing is waiting tables or cleaning up. He likes Daniel a lot and is also kind of a workaholic on top of being, like, constantly worried that other people are all right, so he'll try and make himself useful whether Daniel likes it or not ☺️ he'll even try to flirt... les.s......... the sacrifices he makes........
